We are delighted to welcome 8 new Trustees to the Board of London Children's Ballet
Each brings a wealth of professional expertise and experience from a wide range of sectors. With a shared appreciation for the value of the arts, they are passionate about creating opportunities for young dancers to grow in confidence, creativity, and ambition. They recognise the importance of nurturing talent, widening access, and ensuring that more young people can benefit from exceptional artistic experiences. As we continue to grow, their guidance and support will be invaluable in helping us strengthen our impact and create more opportunities for young dancers at the heart of London Children's Ballet. Georgie works in venture capital, partnering with founders and leadership teams to help scale high-potential businesses. Having started her career in startups before completing an MBA and moving to the other side of the table, she brings experience from across the technology, startup and investment ecosystems. Georgie also serves on the Advisory Board of the Athlete Investor Summit and has been a judge at the UK Tech Awards for several years. Georgie is passionate about helping people realise their potential regardless of background. She is proud to support a number of high-impact social enterprises and charities, including Crisis Venture Studio and We Can Be. .
Georgie Kivell
Julie Bolsom
Julie is a skilled media planner and operational leader who has delivered multi-million-pound campaigns for some of the UK’s leading brands. She is an experienced trustee within a SEN schools’ trust. Julie is passionate about ballet and introducing others to the art form. She was an Olivier Awards dance panelist in 2022.
Kamilah Downing is a digital strategy leader and Bloomberg Tech Fellow with a passion for helping arts organisations thrive in a fast-changing world. She brings significant experience in digital transformation, audience engagement, and creative innovation through senior roles across the cultural sector in both the U.S. and U.K. Formerly Director of Sales and Marketing at Orlando Ballet, she is now Head of Digital at English National Ballet, where she champions storytelling, technology, and accessible experiences to connect people with the arts. Her expertise spans digital strategy, marketing, CRM, audience development, and content production across cinema, broadcast, and global platforms.
Kamilah Downing
Leeann Chen
Leeann Chen is a senior lawyer and special situations investor at Arrow Global, a pan-European asset manager. She was formerly a restructuring lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis and is also a trustee of High House Production Park, an organisation partnered with the Royal Ballet and Opera’s production facilities.
Nichola Ivory-Chapman
Nicky is an HR professional, Coach, Mediator, and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, working at UK broadcaster Channel 4. Current board appointment include, the Learning & Work Institute, the Early Careers Foundation, and the Lisa Ullmann Travelling Scholarship Fund. Nicky trained at the Urdang Academy and travels whenever possible.
Sean trained at the Royal Ballet School and, upon graduating, joined the award-winning dance company BalletBoyz. Sean has held a range of roles across dance education and performance, Including Course Coordinator and Social Media Manager for Yorkshire Ballet Seminars, alongside positions with the Royal Academy of Dance, The Royal Ballet School, Ballet Boost and Performance Platform. Most recently, he was General Manager of London City Ballet and now works as an Assistant Producer with BalletBoyz.
Sean Flanagan
Terry Gibson
Terry is an experienced charity fundraiser who has worked in the Arts and Higher Education for over 20 years. He fundraised at Birmingham Royal Ballet to create new ballets and buy A LOT of pointe shoes. At Royal Birmingham Conservatoire he works with donors to ensure artistic education is accessible to all.
Tim Carlton Jones
Tim Carlton Jones is an Executive Director at Edelman with expertise in strategic communications and partnerships. An experienced board trustee and school governor, he has a particular interest in safeguarding and youth development, and is passionate about widening access to arts and cultural education and creating opportunities for young people.
