A Little Princess

London Children's Ballet is delighted to announce that our 2012 ballet will be a revival of one of our most-loved ballets, A Little Princess, choreographed by Royal Ballet Soloist, Samantha Raine.

Frances Hodgson Burnett's beloved tale of the trials of Sara Crewe in Victorian London has delighted audiences since it was first published in 1905. Since then, it has been adapted for television, animé and the stage and translated into many languages including Japanese and Russian.

Sara Crewe is an intelligent, polite and creative young girl. Born to a wealthy soldier in India, Sara was brought to London for a formal education. At the upscale boarding school, Sara is forced to tolerate the haughty headmistress, Miss Minchin. It only gets worse for Sara Crewe when a distressing event unfolds to leave her impoverished and at the mercy of Miss Minchin. Sara undergoes numerous trials as she is subjected to servitude, but with the help of several dear friends (both seen and unseen), she remains as unwavering and imaginative as ever, proving to all that anyone can be A Little Princess
