December 2015

Posted on Thursday 31st December, 2015
Just before Christmas I had my first costume fitting. I felt like a prince trying on the velvet outfit. This month I had my 10th birthday and my parents gave me a copy of the book. It’s really helping me understand the story and get into character. The passages about Cedric muddling up his words and spellings make me laugh as I used to do the same when I was 7, which is the age Cedric is in the story.

Farewell to LCB

Posted on Thursday 2nd July, 2015
Being in LCB for the last two years has been an absolutely incredible experience. Nanny McPhee was my first production with LCB. I was very nervous about making friends as I was quite shy and didn’t know a single person in the company. Soon enough I made many amazing new friends who I will never forget. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, but even when you didn’t have anyone to talk to - Anne (the LCB chaperone) was there to save the day and put a smile on your face! I enjoyed myself so muc…

Jamie: A rush of happiness

Hi, I’m Jamie. This is my second year with LCB and I am enjoying it just as much as I did last year. Once I walk into the studio I never want to leave, I feel a buzz of excitement. Even if you don’t know any one , there’s always someone there to be your friend.   Being in LCB is so much fun. I love learning new dances and techniques every week and I always look forward to the next rehearsal. This week, we are rehearsing everyday over the Easter holidays, it’s really intense and tiring but so mu…

Sofia: Hard work pays off

Rehearsals so far have been so much fun. We have recently had a run through of Act 1 - it's all coming together and I can't wait until the shows! LCB has really helped my confidence - in fact - so much that I decided to audition for the Royal Ballet School's full-time training! I was delighted to be offered a place and I will train there from September. LCB has showed me that being in a ballet company is hard work, but rewarding. I know that without London Children's Ballet I would not have got…

Zahra: Rehearsal Selfies

Rehearsals are not just hard work, but a load of fun and excitement!! Making friends, gaining experience and just being part of the LCB family has just been the best thing ever!  Especially when your waiting to get the schedule for the next rehearsal, because there's just so much excitement to see if your called! If I'm having a bad day, looking back through rehearsal selfies with everyone, never fails to cheer me up! I definitely wish that the rehearsals/shows could last forever!  The moment o…

Sophie: A dream come true

Posted on Tuesday 7th April, 2015
A Dream Come True  I have just got into the London Children's Ballet! I was very VERY excited when I heard I had got into the company! It was a dream come true! We had the casting on the 7th of December and I was really looking forward to it although I wasn't feeling very well and I know I did not do my best, but I still did as much as I could that day. I hope I get a good part! I would really like to be little snow white, the jester or the snowflake soloist. I am very excited to see which part…
